Imagining constructions digital future: where do we go from here?

In the AEC industry, teams often work in isolation, wasting time and making mistakes by repeatedly creating the same information. To improve, we need consistent and easy data exchange for everyone involved. Standardised data and structured formats can automate information checks, streamline payments, and ensure timely project completion.

Using standardised methods guarantees smooth data flow and better communication. It also reduces human errors and eliminates repetitive manual tasks. The buildingSMART data dictionary (bSDD) provides clear definitions and requirements, while the Information Delivery Specification (IDS) ensures smooth communication between teams and tools.

Adopting these standards boosts efficiency, cuts down errors, and promotes better teamwork, paving the way for more successful AEC projects.
