The Women in BIM Networking Event held on Thursday, March 27th in Brisbane brought together a dynamic group of professionals to explore the theme: “Transport, Accessibility, and Inclusion: Catering for Queensland’s Future Transport System Needs.”

Presentations
Amanda Kershaw kicked off the presentations with a compelling talk on Customer Centric Station Design. She emphasized that rail stations should be more than just transit points—they should be accessible, inclusive, and safe environments that empower community participation. Her insights drew from the Queensland Rail Station Design Manual, a collaboration with Conrad Gargett and Queensland Rail, which aims to go beyond compliance and celebrate accessible public transport.

Next, Katherine Grigg delivered a powerful presentation titled Constructing Inclusivity: A Delivery Perspective. She highlighted the challenges of maintaining inclusive design principles through the delivery phase of infrastructure projects, where cost and complexity often dilute original intentions.
