Women in BIM announces its upcoming London Conference, taking place on Thursday 15 October 2026 in London, centred around the theme “AI in Action.”
Bringing together professionals from across the AECO industry, the conference will explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping the built environment, moving beyond theory into practical application, real world workflows and future facing innovation.
This year’s theme, AI in Action, will spotlight how bold innovation, intelligent technologies and visionary thinking are transforming how projects are designed, delivered and operated.
The programme will demonstrate how BIM professionals are actively leveraging AI to enhance collaboration, improve decision making and unlock smarter project outcomes.
The conference is designed as a 1.5-day experience, beginning with an informal networking evening and drinks reception on the eve of the conference, followed by a full day of AI learning. The opening evening will provide an opportunity for delegates to reconnect, build new relationships and engage with peers across the digital construction and AI ecosystem.
The main conference day will bring AI in Action to life through a dynamic and interactive format, including live demonstrations, quick fire talks, panel discussions and an open mic session, encouraging open dialogue and real-time exchange of ideas.
The event is designed to move beyond passive learning and into active participation, reflection and collaboration.
Content will be structured around four core themes:
- AI – embedding intelligence into BIM workflows, amplifying expertise and improving project outcomes
- Action – moving from awareness to implementation and embedding AI into everyday practice
- People – reinforcing the critical role of human judgement, ethics and context in AI driven decision making
- Progress – scaling innovation from pilot projects into real world, repeatable capability
Together, these themes will provide Women in BIM Members with practical insight into current AI adoption across the AECO sector, alongside informed perspectives on how the technology is expected to evolve in the years ahead.
The 2026 conference will be curated by Marie Grieve, Global Vice Chair of Women in BIM and Founder of Costello Palmer Communications, who will serve as Conference Director and the event will be chaired by David Philp, Chief Value Officer at Bentley Systems – a recognised leader in digital transformation within the built environment.
