International Women’s Day (IWD) is on Saturday 8 March, where women around the world are celebrated for their talent, ability, ingenuity, strength and uniqueness.
Each year IWD has a different theme and for 2025 the them is #AccelerateAction, when collectively, we can all Accelerate Action for gender equality.
At Women in BIM (WIB), gender equality is something we strive for daily, with a vision to support, empower and celebrate female BIM and digital construction professionals around the world.
To mark this special day, we invited some of our WIB Members from GRAITEC to tell us how they are accelerating action and gender equality.
GRAITEC is not only committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace where everyone, regardless of gender, background, or experience has the opportunity to thrive, it embraces different perspectives, creating an environment that values equality and inclusivity.
As part of this commitment, GRAITEC proudly sponsors the WIB Mentor Scheme which is supporting the next generation of female professionals in building successful careers. Through mentorship, advocacy and internal initiatives, together GRAITEC and WIB are working to break down barriers, promote equal opportunities and create a culture of collaboration and respect.

At WIB we aim to encourage women in digital related roles to have a strong voice. By bringing together women in our industry supports the need to bridge digital skills shortages around the world in digital construction capabilities and deliverables.
There is a pressing need to not only retain women in the architecture, engineering and construction industry but create new roles and opportunities.
With the support of global leaders such as GRAITEC we can encourage all our Members to strive to be the best, advancing their positions and equip them with the tools and confidence they need to create a more diverse industry.
