MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA – The BIM Excellence Initiative (BIMei) today announced the launch of the Macro Adoption Dashboard (MAD), a free, open platform that maps how Building Information Modelling (BIM) is being adopted across organisations, education systems, and policy environments – country by country, cycle by cycle.
The dashboard draws on the BIMei Macro Adoption Project’s multi-year programme of coordinated global research, making the data and its underlying datasets freely accessible for the first time through an interactive, browser-based platform at mad.bimexcellence.org.

The Macro Adoption Dashboard allows users to:
- Explore adoption data across three study dimensions: Organisational Adoption (OA), Education Landscape (EL), and Policy Environment (PE)
- Compare countries side by side using interactive heatmaps, bar charts, topic trees, and composite indices
- Access AI-generated explanations for any indicator or data card – on demand
- Translate the entire platform into more than 100 languages, with BIM terminology served by the International BIM Dictionary (bimdictionary.com)
- Download anonymised survey datasets in XLSX or JSON format, free of charge
- Browse, create and download published country and regional reports in PDF format (coming soon)
The platform is descriptive, not evaluative. It presents no country rankings or scores – only a transparent map of where adoption stands and what conditions shape it.

The Macro Adoption Dashboard is the public-facing output of the BIMei Macro Adoption Project, a long-running international research programme coordinating data collection across multiple countries and study cycles. The project is led by – in alphabetical order – Dr. Bilal Succar, Dr. Cristiane Magalhães, Dr. Danny Murguia, Aprof. Eduardo Toledo Santos, Ms. Laura Lacaze, and Prof. Mohamad Kassem, supported by volunteer Study Coordinators from across the world.
