Dr. Julie Jupp is an Associate Professor of Digital Engineering at the University of Technology Sydney. Julie’s teaching and research lie at the intersection of engineering, management, and digital technology, with her activities focused on through-life data and information management.

As the Deputy Director of Teaching and Learning Engagement and lead of the Digital Engineering program at UTS, Julie works with government and industry partners to optimise digitally-enabled planning and project delivery processes, and address shortages in digital skills and literacies. Prior to joining UTS, Julie was at the Department of Engineering at the University of Cambridge, where she was the Deputy Director of the ‘Interdisciplinary Design for the Built Environment’ Masters program and worked on a large UK-based Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council Grand Challenge Project on ‘Through-life Knowledge and Information Management.’ Julie earned her doctorate in 2005 from the Key Centre of Design Computing and Cognition at the University of Sydney.

In 2022, Julie became the first female member of the Board of Directors of buildingSMART Australasia, and continues her advocacy for women in engineering as an active member of Women in BIM, the Women in NSW Public Works Committee, and Women in Engineering and IT at UTS.
